TechSlop:About
From TechSlop
It didn't start out as a dream. It didn't even start out as an idea to create anything in particular. It was just me being a goofball. It was a joke, or a lark. You might even call it serendipity on some level.
Someone asked a question and I provided an answer. I liked the answer so much, I started asking my own questions and digging for answers. Then I started writing them down for others. After a few random pages, I decided to consolidate it into my own Photoshop tutorial site called Technical Slop (http://tech-slop.serveit.org). That's when the real fun begain.
After a bit, Technical Slop developed a philosophy of sorts.
One of the more important things was the focus on content. There wasn't going to a fancy-smancy lay-out with unnecessary graphics. I mean, you don't read a tutorial because the lay-out is fancy, but because of the information contained. Content is king . . . to a fault.
Then there was the content itself. A lot of tutorials out there are a dime-a-dozen. I didn't want to rehash a Guass + Levels combo all over again because it's just plain boring. I like things that are arcane and bizarre. I like things that get into the nitty-gritty and nuts-n-bolts of it. I like things that might seem useless but might save your butt down the road.
But some content are things that just plain strike my fancy.
