Photoshop plug-ins

Photoshop Plug-ins
Programming was my first love. I could create my own little worlds with my own rules. Had lots of fun doing my own text adventures. Even did a few little programs to populate entire worlds with families, and the families even used a basic genetic algorithm. Ah, the good ol' days.
Then I got into Adobe's Photoshop and programming took a backseat for a few years. I did still program on occassion, but nothing serious.
Now, with help from Filter Meister (http://www.filtermeister.com), I can merge the two a little bit. Nothing terribly big and fancy, but more like little helpers to compliment my flow with Photoshop's stock tools.
RGB:
- 2 ChOps
- 2D Histogram
- 2D Remap
- CS Displace 2D
- Additive Wrap-Around
- Colour 2 Colour
- Extract HSLum
- Min Max Shop
- Filter: Hue and Sat
- Lum Frequencies
- Opacity Pump
- Transparent Shades
- RGB 2 Mask (need to write)
- Uber Displace
- Displace by Hue
- Simple Plaid
- SS Lathe
Lab:
I adore Lab mode, but there are some things about Adobe's implementation that I don't like. I'm quirky like that sometimes. So I'm doing somethings in Lab my own way. One of the big things that I do my own way is treating Lab as a sphere as it was designed instead of a cube as implemented in Photoshop. This is largely good, but it means that my way doesn't always play nice with Photoshop. You know, square peg and a round hole and all that.
- Sat Sucker
- Minor ab Manip
- Major ab Balance
- 3Pxab Trans
- Lightness Frequencies
- Polar Trans
- 3D Contrast
- Neutralize
- Replace Colour
- Lab Junk
- Trigs in Space
- Trilinear Lab
3D:
I've recently been getting back into 3d work. One thing I really like is the idea of moving a lot of 3d things into the 2d realm. I'm a 3DS Max user and 3d is good, but sometimes I don't want to open Max for some little tweaks. Sometimes I'm in the mood to keep things in Photoshop as much as possible because Photoshop excels at certain things. You know, post production tricks and the like.
Multi CH Repository: Various MCH files for use with Multi Chan Hax. Quite a few will be Second Life(TM) specific, but I'm sure I'll also have a few miscellanious MCH files.
DevIL.dll:
Recently, the ability to use DLL files has been added to Filter Meister (http://www.filtermeister.com). In some of my recent filters, I have been using Developers Image Library (DevIL.dll) as a method to load external images into my FM filters. This has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for my filters.
I have DevIL.dll in the same directory as my filters and all is well. I have heard that you can have DevIL.dll in the same directory as your Photoshop executible or in your System32 folder, but I haven't tried either. The first directory I tried was my filter directory, it worked, so I left it at that.
- DevIL (http://openil.sourceforge.net)
- DevIL Download (http://openil.sourceforge.net/download.php)
As much as I love doing my own plug-ins with Filter Meister (http://www.filtermeister.com), there are a few minor things.
The first one is that some of my plugs are in various states of beta. They are functional and shouldn't cause any problems, but they may not be the prettiest looking. Currently, I don't do whiz bang GUIs. My focus is functionality.
The next one is that Filter Meister (http://www.filtermeister.com) is not compatible with Actions. They work fine with ctrl + f, but not Actions. This is something that is currently inherent in FM. The FM developers will properly hack this someday.
