Scans
I decided to scan most of my notes and toss them in. Maybe they'll help,
maybe they won't. Either way, they may prove interesting. At the very
least, it's a little peak into how I think sometimes.
No particular order.
Notes 1 - This is one of several coordinate
systems that I've doodled for Displace. The top two are for White and
Black. The bottom two are for Positive % and Negative %. These are only
2 dimensional coord systems. If I did up a complete coord system for Displace,
it would be 4 dimensional -- talk about a mind bender.
Notes 2 - The line factoring that I used for
Math 2. This was actually a lot quicker
and more fun than typing all that out in PS or in HTML.
Notes 3 - This is something that I hardly ever
do: take notes in preperation for a discussion. I usually have it all
in my head and then pseudo-wing it while I'm actually writing it. What
was I thinking?
Notes 4 - More notes in preperation for a discussion.
Notes 5 - This is something that I've been
working on for quite some time. Suppossed to be a better solution to the
Rotate Cube. So far no luck.
Don't know if I'll ever nail it.
Notes 6 - Trying to figure out a way to show
the difference between a one channel and two channel D-Map. All that is
really on there is the line described by the percentages in a one channel
D-Map. Maybe one day I'll nail this as well.
Notes 7 - This is, with out a doubt, the second
coolest D-Map I have ever built. Too bad it didn't work as presented in
the notes. Once I adjusted the gradients, it worked like a charm. This
was my first foray into "local magnification". Some day I might
add this to Tech-Slop.
Notes 8 - This is my second foray into "local
magnification". A good ol' fashioned Emboss/Combo works great, but
it's not as universal as I would like. In order to get this to work to
my satisfaction, different parts will have to be done separately and I'll
have to delve into Emboss.
Notes 9 - Some random doodles. Not for anything
in particular.
Notes 10 - Across the top is the single coolest
D-Map I have ever built. I was jumping up and down for days when I finally
nailed "Bring in the Corners". Fucking-A Bitchin'. Across the
bottom is the base technique for Layer Mask Zoom.
