Pui Pui Entry 8

I got lucky and had some time to myself. Here comes a quick update.

Been a bit out of it lately. Doing the arm, doing the arm, doing the arm -- yech. I decided to cheat.

I went to 3D Cafe (.com), and grabbed a model. Funny thing is, it's a Poser model (at least it looks like a Poser model). How's that for irony? So, I took the rip of a rip, and got to work.

#1. 1512 faces
#2. 494 faces
#3. 235 faces

Don't get mad. That's what the models at 3D Cafe are for.

Getting a little weary with all of the modeling going on, I decided to play with some UVW mapping on the armour. I just wanted to see if it's going to be lots and lots of grunt work, or if I will get lucky.

Grabbed 1/2 of the armour and mirrored it for a full chest piece. I took one side and did a lot of line work (I'll explain this later). Then I gave it some UVW Mapping > Spherical. Yeap, I got lucky. This won't take nearly as much work as I was thinking.

Here's a chunk of the wire:

The only grunt work in that will be the ribcage along the bottom and back. I would say that the shoulder will need some uvw tweaking, but I'm going to map that seperately.
