Pui Pui Entry 7

I was so happy with the priliminary rigging on the leg, I just had to show it. Too bad the renders don't do as much justice as I would like. :sigh: On the other hand, with MeshSmooth, the leg is tasty-and-a-half. Yummy!

First is the leg as is. Next is the leg rigged with stock envelopes -- *no* tweaking has been done to the rig. For a stock rig, it sure is nice. Have to do some tweaking in the knee when I get to a full-blown rig. I also noticed a few other things: 1) there is a face in the knee that doesn't play well with others; 2) the ouside of the hip will need to brought out some. Glad I know these things for the full rig. Finally, on the right, is a quick render with a "metalhalo" shader. I kind of like this, so I might use it instead of black tights with blue specular.

I did learn something else from this prelimary rig. It's not so much having dense faces on the patela itself, but having more faces between the patela and the quads. Since I am so happy with the leg as is, I'm not sure if I'll fix this for this model, but I'll keep this in mind for my next character. Actually, since I'm working on the arm, I should be able to work this idea into the elbows. Then again, this whole face density idea thing might be fixed with tweaking on the final rig.

More than likely going to be a few days before my next update.
