Pui Pui Entry 6

Okay, ya'll have gotten a pretty good taste of how I'm modeling Pui Pui. So, I'm going to step it up a bit. The show-n-tell isn't going to be quite as intimate.

Been working on his leg. So far my main area of concentration has been his knee and quads just above the knee. If I can get this area looking good, then I think it will go a long ways for the cartoonish shading on his tights. The rest of his leg looks good, but not as good as his knee/quad area.

I went with the Bend modifier again. Started with a 2d rough, did a quick 3d rough over it, then did a Bend to 360 degrees. After that, it was a lot of nitty gritty vert and line work. Later I'll do some preliminary rigging to make sure his knee deforms okay. I'm pretty sure it will because of the face density. I've already done some some prelimary renders, and all I can say is: damn, I'm good. What really amazes me is that this leg is well under 200 faces. Wow. I just might make my face limit.

When I get to stitching it in, some areas will get some more working. For example, when I stitch his boot to his leg, his calf in that area will get some tweaking. However, I'm not looking forward to stitching in his posterior and crotch. While posteriors and crotches have their uses, I don't like modeling them.

Next up: Pui Pui's Arm.
Stay tuned.
