Levels Basic

This is by no means an indepth discussion on Image > Adjust > Levels (ctrl + l). This is just a quick little ditty to get you started. Although, there is a good chance this will explode into more information down the road.

We are going to start off with some visual examles right in the Levels dialog. I'm going to be showing Levels with a few extras tossed in. Going to be showing a gradient, outlined in red near the top just under Input Levels, which slider was moved, and in which direction.

It's also kind of important to know that Levels shows a Histogram. Major spiffy. In lieu of showing the histogram, I'll be showing a chunk of Biker Chic with a gradient along the bottom.

I'm sure these sliders have specific names, but I don't know what they are. I am suspicious of them, but I don't want to pass on my memes. So, look at the graphics for visual info.

-Here is a slider moved to the right.

-Here is another slider moved to the left.

-Here is yet another slider moved to the right.

-Same slider, but moved left.

-Another slider moved to the right.

:sigh:

-The last slider moved to the left.

Did you catch all that? If not, I suggest opening PhotoShop and playing around. Even if you did catch all that, I still suggest opening PS to play around.
